Cookies and local storage
What we use
Analytics. We use third-party web analytics services to understand how people use Sketchplaining and make it better. These services collect anonymised visit data: which pages are opened, where the visitor came from, how they move through the service, device and browser type. The data is used solely to improve the service and cannot identify us. We also use two things that are stored in your browser: the session that keeps you signed in, and your interface language preference in local storage. There are no advertising cookies or tracking pixels. The cookie notice offers you a choice between analytics cookies and necessary cookies only, and analytics cookies are placed only after you agree.
Why
The session is needed to sign you in and to know which account the videos belong to. The language preference is needed so the interface opens in the language you chose. Analytics cookies are not needed for the service to work: they show us which pages are opened and how people move through the service, and the data is used solely to improve it. The session and the language preference are needed for the service to work as you expect.
Your control
You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings, or sign out. If you do, you will be signed out, and the interface may open in its default language.

We can update this document. The current version is always on this page, and its date is below.
